Use pictures, video, bulletin inserts, etc. to highlight to your parish what happened during your Summer Bible School.
Reminders for July:
- During this summer, please encourage your Catechists to visit regularly this website and utilize the resources available to them as they plan and prepare their classes in Religion for their students.
- Now is the time to request the necessary SACRAMENTAL information for the children of new families entering the parish program. You need to see and Record their Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation certificates for your records. This is done now not at the time for celebrating the Sacrament.
- If new families are entering your program from another parish program please request to see their report card and also inquire about their records from their previous parish. The same holds true for students transferring from your parish program, send your records to their new parish. It helps in our parish networking.
- Sacramental preparation for elementary age children should be no less than two years and should take place within the context of a graded or an on going religious education program.
- In July as you continue the registration process for the Parish Religious Education Program, hopefully your student enrollment will increase and at the same time family involvement will in the program. We need to continue inviting, welcoming and communicating the importance of their faith journey and that of their children to the Lord.
- The Parish Religious Education Program Calendar 2010 - 2011 reflecting the 90 minute scheduling for 2010-2011, along with the times and theme of the two family catechesis days was sent in June to your Regional Office.
- We are very grateful for our Professional Enrichment Days, sponsored by Loyola Press and to St. Paul the Apostle Parish for providing their facilities on June 18th and 19th. Our time together was certainly rewarding and our presenters Joellyn Cicciarelli and Tom McGrath from Chicago were outstanding, born teachers, inspirational and fun to be with.
- Would you like to learn or review the basic teachings of the Catholic Faith? A Catholic Faith Byte is an on-line tutorial, based on a question from the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Faith. Presenting the teachings of the Church in a user-friendly way, a Catholic Faith Byte takes just a few minutes to complete. Check it out!
- Also, visit these sights, all you need to do is click, Dates to Remember, Upcoming Events, Your Catechism IQ at nyfaithformation.org. Each Wednesday, a new quiz item will be posted here. Based on either the Catechism of the Catholic Church or from scripture, the questions are a good basic review. See how well you do this week.
