Faith Formation for a Media Generation

Once upon a time, the Church told the story of Jesus through the great European cathedrals with their stained glass windows that captivated us with the beauty of the biblical story. Now a whole new digital world is emerging. From music and movies to advertising and the Internet, our everyday lives are filled with the sights and sounds of various media. This interactive presentation introduces you to the principles behind media mindfulness. Integrating media literacy skills and the values of our Catholic faith, media mindfulness will give you the tools you need to help your students make wise media choices. It will also help you learn how you can use media to engage your students with the Gospel message in the digital language to which they are so accustomed!
Mary Martha Moss, FSP, a media apostle for over 30 years, Sister is the author of the CPA award-winning children's book, "God is Here...When Bad Things Happen." She has served in various Pauline Book and Media Centers across the country, worked in formation ministry at various stages of the discernment process, and completed two terms on her congregation's leadership council. She currently serves in Pauline Books and Media located in Manhattan.
